Madeira
A journey exploring the island’s subtropical forests, from Funchal to the north coast and back again, via natural sea pools, dolphin watching and a 4×4 tour.
Thailand
We stayed in Hua Hin on the mainland then explored unspoilt and gorgeous Koh Kood, an island up near the Cambodian border
European road trip
The highlights of a drive down to Lake Orta (with delicious swimming also at Neuchatel, Brienz and in the Ardeche), were stops in Piedmont and the Luberon. Plus that time we drank Ovaltine in the clouds on an Alpine pass.
Sicily
From east to west, we pottered around Taormina, stopped to see glittering mosaics at Monreale, dug our toes in pink sand at San Vito Lo Capo and ambled between the old town and the beach at Cefalu (via Roman temples and various agriturismi.)
Kefalonia and Ithaca
After exploring the caves and beaches of Kefalonia, we sailed around rugged Ithaca, enjoying its quiet tavernas and secluded, white pebble coves.
